Upexi (UPXI) Q4 2026 Earnings Call: Solana Treasury Strategy and Financial Results

September 18, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Upexi, Inc. reported a fiscal 2026 net loss of $246.1 million, or $3.87 per share, driven heavily by unrealized and realized digital-asset losses as the company marked one full year of its Solana treasury strategy, according to financial data released during its September 17, 2026 earnings call.

The stark widening from the prior year’s $13.7 million net loss puts a spotlight on the volatile nature of corporate crypto-treasury models. While CEO Allan Marshall pointed to balance sheet fortifications, including a reduction in operating expenses and the extinguishment of roughly $20 million in debt during June 2026, the underlying financials underscore the severe friction companies face when pairing e-commerce operations with digital-asset holdings.

Deconstructing the Solana Treasury Performance and Balance Sheet Actions

Chief Financial Officer Andrew Norstrud laid out the mechanics of the treasury during the call. As of June 30, 2026, Upexi held approximately 2.34 million Solana tokens with a cost basis of about $360.3 million, averaging $154 per token. Roughly 95% of those holdings remained staked, generating approximately $17.4 million in digital-asset revenue and earning roughly 135,000 Solana tokens over the fiscal year.

Those operational gains were swallowed by market conditions. The company recorded $195.1 million in unrealized losses on digital assets alongside $11.7 million in realized losses. Stock-based compensation added $21.9 million to the ledger, while general and administrative expenses climbed to $26.4 million from $11.9 million due to treasury fees, legal costs, travel, and higher employee compensation.

Interest expenses also leaped to $13.6 million from $1.2 million, fueled by the short-term and convertible debt utilized to expand the digital treasury following initial capital raises of $100 million in April 2025 and $200 million in July 2025.

To stabilize operations, management slashed its full-time workforce from 59 to 10 employees and outsourced manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics. Cash reserves rebounded to $5.8 million by June 30, marking a 65% increase from the preceding quarter, alongside working capital of $45.6 million and total assets of $180.1 million. Subsequent to the fiscal year-end, the company refinanced its credit facility, dropping its interest rate from 11.5% to 7.5% and lowering required collateral.

Institutional Adoption Arguments Versus Market Reality

Chief Strategy Officer Brian Rudick used the earnings call to frame the broader industry backdrop, pointing to a 48% year-over-year increase in stablecoin supply, tokenized equities topping $420 million, and over $5 billion in trading volume. Rudick cited ongoing digital asset explorations involving major entities like SoFi, Western Union, MoneyGram, Mastercard, State Street, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services as evidence of deep institutional engagement.

Total stockholders’ equity sank to negative $53.8 million at the close of June, a steep drop from positive equity of $90.1 million a year prior. Furthermore, the company repurchased about 2.9 million common shares over the course of the fiscal year while booking a gain on debt extinguishment of approximately $10.3 million.
