Dallas, TX - October 29, 2025 – The University of North Texas at Dallas today formally introduced its Center for Technology, Innovation, Development and Entrepreneurship (TIDE) to a gathering of regional business leaders, signaling a new commitment to bolstering economic growth and chance in southern Dallas County.The unveiling marks a pivotal moment for the university and the surrounding communities,poised for significant expansion in the coming years.
UNT dallas established TIDE to concentrate on three key pillars: STEM education, research and experiential learning, and workforce development. these initiatives are designed to address critical skills gaps, foster innovation, and cultivate a pipeline of talent prepared for the demands of a rapidly evolving job market. The center’s launch comes as southern Dallas experiences increasing investment and development, with projections indicating substantial growth throughout the region in the decades ahead.
“I hope each of you leaves here with a renewed commitment to collaboration-to reach across sectors, to share resources and expertise, and to keep southern Dallas at the forefront of innovation and economic growth,” UNT Dallas President Von Eschenbach stated during the summit’s closing remarks.
the need for focused development in the area was further highlighted by Peter Brodsky, who noted that the Bank of America building, locally known as Oak Cliff Tower, remains the only structure south of Interstate 30 exceeding ten stories in height. This observation underscores the potential for transformative change and the opportunity for UNT Dallas’s TIDE center to play a central role in shaping the future landscape of southern Dallas and beyond.
