The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) enrolled 33,706 students in Fall 2025, according to preliminary data released by the Office of Decision Support. This represents a growth of nearly 800 students compared to the 32,911 enrolled in Fall 2024.
The increase is largely driven by undergraduate enrollment, which reached 27,963, although graduate enrollment stands at 4,682 and professional school enrollment at 1,085. The student body is comprised of 14,667 male students and 19,039 female students. A significant 88% of the student population identifies as residents of Nevada, totaling 29,685 students.
UNLV’s student population continues to reflect increasing diversity. Minority students comprise 71% of the total headcount, with 11,881 students identifying as Hispanic, representing the largest minority group. Asian students number 5,233, while 3,048 students identify as Black or African American. The university also reports 3,438 students identifying with two or more races.
Chris Heavey serves as the President of UNLV, a public, coeducational institution founded in 1957. The university has evolved from a compact branch college into a research institution. The breakdown of student attendance status shows 23,653 full-time students and 9,258 part-time students. 3,840 students are exclusively enrolled in online courses and 16,321 students are taking some courses online.
Data indicates a slight shift in racial identification compared to the previous year. While the total minority representation remains consistent at around 70-71%, the number of students identifying as White decreased from 8,613 in Fall 2024 to 8,346 in Fall 2025. The number of students identifying as Asian increased from 8,089 to 8,237 during the same period.
The university has not yet released a statement regarding the implications of this enrollment growth or any planned adjustments to academic resources or campus infrastructure. The Office of Decision Support is scheduled to release a finalized enrollment report in March 2026.
