In the university of the University of the Bío-Bío, the Regional Commission of the Primary Health Care (PHCs) and Health Equity, which promotes the Ministry of Health (MINSAL) through the Seremi of that portfolio. The UBB is represented by Carmen Burdiles, researcher Center for Territorial and Interdisciplinary Studies (CETTI) and coordinator of the UBB Government Laboratory (LABUBB) for public innovation.
The Commission is made up of representatives of the Ministry of Social and Family Development, Regional Universities, Health Services, among others.
The Regional Coordinator of APS Universal in the Biobío region of the Seremi de Salud, Daniela Guiñez, explained that the Commission is an intersectoral instance where equity is promoted in the region by detecting the detection of gaps from different sectors to contribute to improving the health of the population, which is framed within the axis of equity of the reform that drives the MINSAL.
“At the moment the Regional Equity Plan is being carried out where we already determine some gaps, mainly associated with the care, the caregivers in the population and the digitalization in health,” he said.
For her part, the Ceti UBB researcher, Carmen Burdiles, highlighted these advances and said that “the participation of the various actors allows to contribute to public innovation and public policies to try to influence new strategies and address the challenges that the region has in a topic as significant as health in the area already country level.”
