A blue pair of underwear found hanging on a jacket hook at a bar in Fredrikstad, Norway, has sparked a local search for its owner. Rune Østhagen, the owner of the Hoi Polloi bar, initiated the search after the garment was discovered over the weekend, according to a report in Dagbladet.
Østhagen described being surprised by the discovery, noting that while patrons frequently leave items behind – glasses, shoes, even Viagra pills – a piece of underwear was a first. “It is the first time someone has forgotten a pair of underwear,” he told the newspaper. He added that the underwear was displayed “so neatly and tidily as a jacket,” prompting him to post a picture on Facebook in an attempt to locate the owner.
The post, described as a “truseinnlegg” (underwear post) by Dagbladet, offered the owner the opportunity to reclaim the item starting Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Østhagen jokingly suggested he anticipated a potential queue of claimants. As of Monday, the owner remains unidentified and no one has come forward to claim the blue underwear.
