Un-Nooh Into Final After Dramatic Climax | World Snooker Tour

March 22, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Carty, Steadman and Hugill secured their return to the World Snooker Tour (WST) following the Q Tour Play-Offs on March 17, 2026, according to the WPBSA.

The Q Tour Play-Offs determine which players from the Q Tour – a series of events for players not automatically qualified for the WST – earn cards for the professional circuit. The WST currently comprises approximately 128 players competing in up to 28 tournaments each season.

World Snooker Ltd, the commercial arm of professional snooker, administers the tour. Established in 1982 as the commercial arm of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), it as well organizes the majority of events, including the World Snooker Championship.

Matchroom Sport Ltd, owned by Barry Hearn, holds a 51 percent stake in World Snooker Ltd, with the WPBSA, the sport’s governing body, owning the remaining 26 percent. This ownership structure has been in place since 2010.

The WST’s branding evolved from the increasing number of professional tournaments held outside the British Isles since the 1970s, and was unified under the World Snooker Association (WSA) in 1997, with further revisions in 2020. Players seeking to compete on the tour must be members of the WPBSA.

Recent partnership activity includes an agreement between Matchroom Sports and Riyadh Season across major boxing, darts, and snooker events, as announced on October 5, 2025.
