Ukraine Intensifies Air War With Massive Drone Attacks on Russian Logistics and Infrastructure

Ukraine has disabled seven of the ten largest logistics centers belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s e-commerce platform, during a sustained drone campaign. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the strikes targeted critical distribution nodes, including the 250,000-square-meter Kóledino facility, to disrupt Russian consumer logistics and military-adjacent supply chains.

For months, Kyiv focused on energy infrastructure and refineries.

The Logistics of Attrition: Wildberries Under Fire

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed that the Domodédovo warehouse and the massive Kóledino center are now out of service. Since the campaign began on July 18, at least 14 facilities have suffered fires or significant material damage.

According to the e-commerce consultancy Data Insight, the attacks have destroyed merchandise valued at up to 480,000 million rubles (approximately $5.9 billion). The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense estimates the direct damages between 100,000 million and 200,000 million rubles, while the total financing required to restore the network could reach 1.3 trillion rubles—roughly $15.78 billion.

Wildberries, founded by Tatyana Kim, is attempting to decentralize its logistics to survive. The company has already issued voluntary payments to over 80,000 affected sellers. Infobae reported that the company has lost up to one-third of its storage space.

The Dual-Use Dilemma and Military Supply Chains

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Wildberries stores military supplies and components for drones.

Wildberries disputes this. The company has labeled the attacks “terrorist” and denies selling weaponry. They acknowledge, however, that they cannot fully monitor every independent seller on their platform.

Deep-Strike Capabilities and the Orsk Refinery

On the same day as recent warehouse strikes, Governor Radi Khabirov reported that 21 drones targeted the Baskortostán region. While 16 were intercepted, drones successfully hit a Wildberries logistics center in the Chishminski district, leaving at least two people injured.

A Russian official confirmed that a refinery in Orsk—located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the front lines—has been knocked out of service for at least six months.

Macro-Economic Ripple Effects and Global Risk

The Russian government is currently evaluating a relief package for the company, including tax exemptions, to prevent a total retail collapse.
