MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior Izzy Uhlhorn-Thornton of Macalester College secured her third consecutive 200-yard breaststroke title at the MIAC Swimming &amp. Diving Championships on Saturday, February 15, 2026, setting a new program record with a time of 2:20.99. The Scots concluded their season with a strong performance at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Uhlhorn-Thornton’s winning time demonstrated her dominance in the event, as she maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, recording splits of 1:06.30 at the 100-yard mark and 1:42.50 at 150 yards, according to the Macalester Athletics website. This victory marks her third straight championship in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Sophomore Molly Nuckolls also contributed to Macalester’s success, winning the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:08.63. Nuckolls led from the start, splitting 1:00.36 at the 100-yard mark and finishing strong to secure the victory. Sophomore Hannah Zurn finished fourth in the same event, while freshman Annika Hensel placed seventh, adding valuable points for the Scots.

First-year Ainsley Kashatus added to the team’s point total with a third-place finish in the 3-meter dive. Senior Carolyn Wolking also contributed, finishing eighth in the 100-yard freestyle.

Earlier in the week, on February 13, Uhlhorn-Thornton had already secured a victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, continuing her impressive performance at the MIAC Championships. At a meet held February 6-7 at the University of Minnesota, Uhlhorn-Thornton placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.82) and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.01), also achieving a personal best time of 1:01.50 in the 100-yard individual medley, the fastest time among Division III competitors at that meet.

The Scots finished the MIAC Championships with multiple first-place finishes and strong supporting performances across both swimming and diving events.
