Umut Özkan, brother of actor Ufuk Özkan, refuted reports of a suicide attempt by his brother, stating he was hospitalized due to illness. The clarification comes after claims circulated regarding ufuk Özkan’s health, fueled by recent discussions about his financial difficulties and liver failure treatment.
Ufuk Özkan was admitted to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital after falling ill at home, according to Umut Özkan. “My brother felt unwell at home. We called an ambulance and brought him to the hospital. The news of a suicide attempt is a lie,” umut Özkan told reporters outside the hospital. He expressed optimism about his brother’s condition, adding, “Hopefully, the liver transplant process will be very rapid and go well.”
According to Habertürk‘s Eren Gürel, Ufuk Özkan is currently in intensive care, with a projected 48-hour stay before potentially being moved to a room. Umut Özkan also explained his brother’s recent comments about needing a break from filming, stating, “My brother said, ‘I will die on stage if necessary.’ He was very tired and getting worse.”
Ufuk Özkan’s hospitalization follows public discussion of his financial struggles, including statements about difficulty paying alimony and rent. A liver transplant is anticipated as part of his treatment.
