UCLA Quarterback Nico Iamaleava Exits Game against Washington with Injury
PASADENA, Calif. – UCLA Bruins quarterback Nico Iamaleava sustained an injury during Saturday night’s game against the Washington Huskies and did not return, leaving the team without their starting signal-caller in the third quarter.
The injury occurred at 8:44 in the third quarter when Iamaleava was sacked for a 15-yard loss by Washington’s Bryce Butler at the UCLA 25-yard line. The Bruins were trailing 27-0 at the time of the play.
Iamaleava initially remained on the field before rising to his feet and walking off the Rose Bowl field under his own power. He then entered a medical tent located behind the UCLA bench for further evaluation.
Prior to the injury, the Tennessee transfer had completed 16 of 26 pass attempts for 69 yards.He also contributed 16 rushing yards on five carries.
