UCLA Men’s Golf Heads to Notre Dame Following Successful 2024-25 Season
The UCLA Bruins men’s golf team is set to compete at the University of Notre Dame tournament, their penultimate fall event of the season. Following this competition,UCLA will participate in the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational,hosted by Georgia tech,from Oct. 24-26.
The Bruins concluded a successful 2024-25 campaign by reaching the NCAA Championships for the first time as 2018, finishing 20th of 30 teams. Pablo Ereño achieved the best individual finish by a UCLA golfer at the NCAA Championships since Patrick Cantlay in 2012, tying for sixth place. Lorens Chan was the last Bruin to finish in the top 10, tying for ninth in 2014.
Both Ereño and teammate Morales earned collegiate medals during the season. Ereño won at The Tindall at Aldarra Golf Club, while Morales secured victory at the Big Ten Championships with a score of 7-under 203. They finished the season ranked No. 9 (Morales) and No. 10 (Ereño) in the PGA Tour University rankings.
Ereño and Morales were also honored on the NCAA Division I PING All-West Region team. Ereño was named Big Ten Men’s Golfer of the Year, Baylor Larrabee earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year acclaim, and Armen Kirakossian was recognized as the Big Ten Coach of the Year, marking UCLA’s first season in the conference. The Bruins won the Big Ten Championships at Baltimore Country club with a score of 2-over 842, narrowly defeating Illinois.
