UBS is relocating positions within its global human resources department to Poland, impacting numerous employees at the last major Swiss bank. The bank has declined to comment on specific questions regarding the move.
The restructuring is overseen by Stefan Seiler, head of global HR and a member of UBS’s group management since 2023. This relocation follows a similar trend at Swiss Re,where a significant portion of its IT risk management team is being shifted to a service centre in india.
According to an internal source, approximately 90 percent of IT Risk Management positions at Swiss Re are being moved to the Indian subcontinent. Swiss Re stated, “We continuously work on optimizing the organizational structure of our IT teams in order to meet the changing requirements of the business. This also includes ensuring that we use our expertise across all locations. swiss Re supports all affected employees during their respective transition phases and offers…assistance of HR and superiors, employee assistance programs and internal job offers.”
The shift at Swiss Re is being led by Pravina Ladva, the insurer’s top technology executive, who has been with the company for eight years. The moves represent a loss of well-compensated positions in Zurich.
