Two people sustained minor injuries following a chemical reaction at an industrial facility in the Aschaffenburg district of Bavaria, Germany. Emergency services are monitoring air quality within a five-kilometer radius of the incident site, and measurements will continue.
The incident occured when a chemical reaction took place within a 6,000-liter container designed for hazardous substances. The initial reaction produced a thick, orange cloud of smoke, prompting a response from local fire departments. As of late Tuesday, the area has been cooled, and white smoke is now visible. The cause of the initial chemical reaction remains under investigation.
Fire department officials have stated the scene is stable, but are continuing to monitor for any further release of perhaps harmful particles. Residents within the affected zone are being advised to remain indoors as a precautionary measure.
