Two Police Officers Arrested for Alleged Gang Rape in Swat Valley
Two serving police constables were arrested in Swat Valley after allegedly gang-raping a woman who had travelled to the popular tourist destination with her husband, aol.co.uk reported.
The Journey and Detention at Angro Dherai
The victim, a resident of Peshawar, was visiting the scenic region alongside her husband. Based on details highlighted by aol.co.uk via The Express Tribune, the pair were heading back from the picturesque Bahrain area when a pair of officers intercepted their transport at Angro Dherai. Under the guise of conducting an inquiry, the law enforcement personnel reportedly made contact with them prior to escorting them to a lodging situated in the Faza Gat sector.
The husband was locked in a separate room while the two officers allegedly raped the woman one after the other. The suspects also threatened to kill the woman if she reported what had happened.
The Investigation and Arrests in Swat District
Following the assault, the victim lodged a formal complaint at Rahimabad police station. Swat District Police Officer Umar Khan ordered an immediate investigation into the incident. Police used CCTV footage to trace and identify the two suspects before placing them under arrest.

Both men were serving police constables, although Khan stated they were allegedly off duty when the attack took place. Speaking to Dawn.com, Khan confirmed that cases had been registered against both men and a departmental inquiry had been launched.
He stated: “We have arrested both suspects, registered an FIR against them and initiated a departmental inquiry. If the allegations are proved, strict legal and departmental action will be taken against them.”
Pending Legal Proceedings
The suspects remain under investigation by local authorities. The allegations have not yet been established in court, and further legal steps depend on the ongoing judicial and departmental proceedings.
