Two MLAs Among Six Injured in Delhi Car Crash
Two state legislators were among six people injured late Sunday night when a car crossed a road divider and collided with an SUV in central Delhi, according to local police. The crash occurred near the Public Works Department office in the IP Estate area around 9:30 p.m. The injured include Anil Jha, the sitting MLA for Kirari, and Abhay Patil, a legislator from Karnataka. According to police, both men were traveling in an Innova when the incident took place.
### Collision Details and Emergency Response
The collision involved a Swift hatchback traveling from Laxmi Nagar toward ITO and an Innova heading in the opposite direction. Preliminary investigations by the Delhi Police indicate that the Swift struck a divider, breached a roadside railing, and entered the opposing lane, where it collided with the Innova. The Swift was occupied by 32-year-old Ashutosh Pandey, who was traveling with his wife and two minor children. Following the crash, authorities received reports of a potential CNG leak, prompting a response from the fire department to secure the site. All six individuals involved in the collision sustained minor injuries and were transported to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital. Investigators are currently reviewing the sequence of events leading up to the breach of the roadside railing. Following the removal of the damaged vehicles from the roadway, authorities confirmed that traffic flow in the area has returned to normal. The investigation remains active as officials work to establish the precise circumstances surrounding the collision.
