When frigid temperatures set in, there are places around the Twin Cities where people can go to keep warm.

Below is a list of locations in Hennepin and Ramsey counties:

minneapolis

Catholic Charities Opportunity Center (740 E. 17th St.): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

hope Avenue Twin Cities (1229 Logan Ave.): 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.daily.

Hennepin County Government Center (300 sixth St. S.): 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Skyway is open until 8 p.m.

Minneapolis Central Library (300 Nicollet Mall): 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Peace House Community (1816 Portland Ave.): 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; hot lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
