Apple on Wednesday released tvOS 26.3 for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, delivering bug fixes and security improvements to the streaming platform. The update, arriving two months after the release of tvOS 26.2, is available for download through the Settings app on supported Apple TV models.
Users can initiate the update by navigating to System > Software Update within the Settings menu. Apple also noted that devices with automatic software updates enabled will receive the tvOS 26.3 update automatically, without requiring manual intervention.
The release of tvOS 26.3 follows a period of shorter-than-usual beta testing, according to reports. While Apple has not publicly detailed the specific bug fixes and security improvements included in the update, release notes are available through Apple’s tvOS support documentation.
tvOS 26, launched in June 2025, introduced a significant redesign featuring a new “Liquid Glass” material intended to create a more immersive viewing experience. The update focused on minimizing distractions and keeping the content central to the user’s attention, even during actions like adjusting settings or using the sleep timer. The Apple TV app was also redesigned with cinematic poster art to enhance content discovery.
The Liquid Glass design, utilizing real-time rendering, aims to provide a vibrant and expressive aesthetic that reflects and refracts its surroundings. Enhancements were also made to profile-switching and app login processes to streamline access to entertainment. Updates to Apple Music Sing allowed users to sing along with friends using an iPhone.
