TV Anchor Laura Vonda Caught Up in Divorce Drama Involving New Partner
Latvian Television Anchor Caught in Separation Drama
Latvian Television “Panorāma” news anchor Laura Vonda has found herself at the center of a personal drama. Public reports from outlets including Jauns.lv and LA.LV detail how the broadcast journalist’s new romantic partnership has drawn media scrutiny amid an ongoing marital separation involving her partner and his three children.
The Dissolution of a 12-Year LTV Marriage
Laura Vonda currently holds the status of an unmarried woman following the dissolution of her 12-year marriage to LTV news service operator Ivans Milovs. According to reports published by Jauns.lv, the couple’s marriage ended in the spring of 2025.
The pair originally met inside the Latvian Television newsroom after Vonda, the daughter of former Criminal Police chief Jānis Vonda, began her career in broadcast journalism.
In a previous interview with the magazine “Kas Jauns,” Vonda reflected openly on the origins of her past relationship, noting that while workplace romances initially struck her as unusual, they are a natural byproduct of long hours spent in a newsroom environment. “People spend a lot of time at work, and that is how relationships form. In my opinion, it is much more normal to meet at work rather than in the dark, in a nightclub, while intoxicated,” Vonda told “Kas Jauns” at the time.
Cyber Security Chief Link Sparks Tabloid Scrutiny
Public attention shifted to Vonda’s current personal life following reports in the magazine “Kas Jauns” regarding her relationship with Jānis Matēvičs, head of the LMT Cyber Security Maintenance Department. Neither Vonda nor Matēvičs has issued public comments regarding their private lives, maintaining a strict silence as details emerge in the press.

Complicating the narrative, LA.LV notes that Matēvičs remains officially married to Larisa Matēviča, the mother of his three children.
Wife Breaks Silence on Family Home Departure
Anonymous friends of Larisa Matēviča contacted the editorial office of “Kas Jauns” to voice support. Speaking directly to the publication, Larisa Matēviča confirmed that she and her husband have lived apart for several months, stating that her husband left the family home and initiated a new relationship shortly before Christmas of the previous year.
