Donohue’s is gearing up to host its 20th annual Turkey Trot 5K run adn walk on Thursday, November 27, 2025, offering a festive Thanksgiving tradition for runners and walkers of all levels. Registration is currently open with discounted entry fees available.
This year’s event promises a morning of community spirit, competition, and post-race festivity. The Turkey Trot has become a beloved fixture in the local Thanksgiving calendar, drawing participants eager to kick off the holiday with exercise and camaraderie. The event not only provides a healthy activity but also supports local businesses and fosters a sense of togetherness.
The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m., preceded by a free pre- and post-race breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. A free kids Fun run will immediately follow the main race at 8:35 a.m.All registered runners will be entered into a raffle featuring over 50 prizes of six-packs of beer and bottles of wine.
The first 1,300 registrants will receive a complimentary long-sleeved t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female in age groups ranging from 15 and under through 70+. Separate divisions will also recognize the top Clydesdale (male 215 lbs & up) and athena (female 160 lbs & up) competitors.
Prizes, including pies from Fresh Quebrada Bakery, will be awarded to overall champions, age group winners, the top influencer who recruits the most runners, and the captain of the largest team. Costume prizes will also be given for the best-dressed female, male, and group.
Entry fees are $40 in advance and $50 on race day, with registration opening at 7:00 a.m. on the back patio. An after-party with music and beer will be held at Donohue’s following the race.
