Tucumán Health System Welcomes 163 New Specialists, Reinforces Commitment to Training
San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina – The Ministry of Public Health of Tucumán province celebrated the graduation of 163 new medical professionals from its residency program today, marking a notable investment in the future of healthcare for the region. The ceremony recognized 111 residents and 52 heads of residency programs who completed a key stage in their training, distributed across healthcare facilities throughout the province.
The event underscored the Ministry’s dedication to continuous professional progress, quality patient care, and fostering a strong sense of vocation among healthcare providers. According to officials, the residency system represents a model committed to these principles.
“Each resident is an investment in quality and care for the entire Tucumán community,” stated Estela Núñez, General Director of Human Resources. Susana Sanchez, Director of Training and Training, emphasized the focus on both the number and quality of new professionals, stating, “We seek to guarantee not only a significant number of professionals, but also academic excellence that directly impacts patient care.”
Dr. Mariana Maurizi, Head of the Department of Residences, highlighted the program’s accessibility, noting that residences are located throughout the province “so that all applicants have equal opportunities.”
Graduates shared positive experiences, with Irina Mamani, completing a post-basic residency in Cardiovascular and pediatric Critical Care at Children’s Hospital, describing her experience as “fascinating” and noting the supportive surroundings that made the service feel like “a family.” Camila Valdez, a graduate of the Community nursing specialty from lamadrid de Monteros General Hospital, expressed excitement about beginning a new stage of her career, hopeful for continued growth within the health system.
The Ministry, under the leadership of Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, and with the support of Governor Osvaldo Jaldo, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening professional training and human development within the Tucumán health system.
