The Baden-Württemberg Table Tennis Association secured overall victory at the 2026 German Seniors 60+ Cup by claiming two second-place finishes, tischtennis.de reported. Ten women’s teams and ten men’s teams competed at the Sportzentrum Westend in Eberswalde for the annual tournament.

Hessian Men Claim Title While Baden-Württemberg Secures Second

The Hessischer Tischtennis-Verband won the men’s division after remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. Hans-Jürgen Fischer, Klaus Scherb, Dieter Buchenau, and Kay Seyffert carried the team through the draw. They faced Baden-Württemberg in the final, where Georg Winkler, Rolf-Dieter Loss, Bruno Lehmann, and Petar Dordevic pushed the eventual champions. Scherb suffered the only loss for the title-winning side, falling 12:14 in the fifth set against his opponent. The defending champions from Bavaria did not enter a men’s team in the 2026 competition, leaving the field open for the rest of the bracket.

Bavarian Women Defend Crown Against TTBW Challengers

In the women’s bracket, the Bayerischer Tischtennis-Verband successfully defended its title. Gerti Dietrich, Karen Hellwig, Brigitte Wantscher, and Claudia John finished the event without a loss, securing a victory in the final match against Baden-Württemberg. Hannelore Stowasser, Andrea Schödel, Karin Hoffmann, and Ingrid Reiner represented the runner-up squad. The combined points from the women’s and men’s second-place finishes propelled Baden-Württemberg to the top of the overall standings.

Eberswalde Hosts National Tournament at Sportzentrum Westend

The TTC Finow Eberswalde organized the national senior event for the first time. Sixteen tables filled the Sportzentrum Westend, providing competition space for all twenty participating squads. MKTT-online published the complete tournament results.
