TSV Neustadt Shooters fell 73-86 to Lok Bernau
TSV Neustadt temps Shooters fell 73-86 to ProB North league leader Lok Bernau on October 15, 2026, after a scoreless stretch in the second quarter erased a competitive start in front of nearly 900 fans at the Gymnasium sports hall.
The match began as a tightly contested affair despite the absence of injured players Matej Jelovcic, Robin Kniss, and Kevin Weber. Neustadt stayed within striking distance during the opening period, ending it trailing narrowly at 24-25. However, a 0-7 run by Bernau immediately followed, and a subsequent drought lasting more than three and a half minutes in the second quarter allowed the visitors to pull away to a 39-52 halftime lead.
Trainer Allen Ray Smith pointed to his squad’s resilience despite missing their top scorer. This game has once again shown that our team, no matter the situation, fights for our city and for the victory,
Smith stated.
The scoring gap widened to 41-62 in the second half before Neustadt mounted a comeback attempt. Simonas Paukste, who led the hosts with 22 points, and Alfa Alegbe, who contributed 14 points, sparked a rally that cut the deficit to 53-61. Terry Haarmann added 8 points and Robert Beasley chipped in 7 for the Shooters.
Ultimately, poor execution from the charity stripe stalled the comeback. The team converted just 18 of 33 free-throw attempts. Edin Redzepovic proved to be the exception, sinking all three of his attempts to finish with 5 points, while Chris Kwilu scored 6, Evan Rietsch and Waldemar Weber each added 4, and Leonard Musahl scored 3.
The loss leaves Neustadt to address offensive conversion rates in upcoming fixtures as the 2. Bundesliga ProB North season progresses.
