Troy men’s tennis competed in the Main Draw round at the Yarbrough Tennis Center during day two of the ITA Regionals in Auburn, Alabama, where six players represented the program and two advanced through the opening round before meeting elimination in the Round of 32, troytrojans.com reported.

Coach Rolando Vargas Evaluates Singles Performance During Rain

Head coach Rolando Vargas noted the indoor conditions forced by rain during the event. “Overall, it was a good tournament in singles,” Vargas said, as reported by troytrojans.com. “We had six guys representing in the Main Draw, with three players qualifying for a spot. Obviously, we had Boilevin and Miyazato being the highlights, winning their first main match and having battles in the second one. So now, we are just waiting for doubles so that we can keep moving forward tomorrow.”

Vargas added that the indoor conditions presented challenges due to rain, but observed that the team stepped up at the right moment to gain valuable experience for ongoing development.
