Trouble In Mind Records, a Chicago-based independent record label known for its eclectic roster and commitment to underground music, has ceased operations as of june 1st. The label announced its closure via a statement posted online, citing a desire to focus on the positive impact it had during its run rather than detailing the reasons for its end.
Founded in 2009, Trouble In mind Records carved a niche supporting artists across genres including garage rock, post-punk, and experimental music. The labelS closure marks a loss for independent music and the artists it championed. Bill & Lisa Roe, the label’s founders, expressed gratitude to the artists they worked with and the fans who supported them, emphasizing the vital role of independent labels in the music ecosystem.
