Country Star Trisha Yearwood Halts Touring to Prioritize Marriage with Garth Brooks
Nashville, TN – Trisha Yearwood substantially altered her career trajectory after marrying garth Brooks in 2005, consciously stepping back from a demanding touring schedule to nurture their relationship. Yearwood revealed in a recent interview with People that maintaining a successful marriage required a intentional shift in priorities.
Prior to her marriage, Yearwood’s career was characterized by extensive touring-averaging 200 days on the road annually. However, upon relocating to Oklahoma following her wedding to Brooks, she ceased that relentless pace.”I stopped,” Yearwood stated.”I wasn’t touring 200 days a year anymore. I was a bonus mom to three children and I was trying to make a marriage work, becuase I had learned that marriages don’t work if you’re never together.”
Yearwood emphasized the necessity of “conscious effort” in building a strong partnership, adding, “That’s kind of vital. You have to be together.” She actively focused on domestic life, prioritizing family commitments such as attending soccer games and preparing meals.
The couple is preparing to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on December 10, 2005. Yearwood will appear in NBC’s Christmas in Nashville special on December 3 at 10 p.m. ET, and the special will be available on Peacock the following day.
