State-owned Transnet is overhauling its board structure, establishing a specialized subcommittee to meticulously track and monitor business operations. This move comes as the freight and rail group navigates significant recovery efforts and generational reforms.

Operations Performance Committee Takes Shape

The newly formed business operations performance committee has received the endorsement of Transport Minister Barbara Creecy. Minister Creecy has been instrumental in spearheading vital reforms within the logistics sector. The committee is chaired by engineer Refilwe Buthelezi.

This dedicated body is equipped with a wealth of experience, drawing on expertise in accounting, engineering, and business turnaround strategies. Its primary mandate is to ensure the effective execution and oversight of Transnet’s operational activities.

Transnet’s strategic restructuring aims to strengthen accountability and drive efficiency.
