UNLV Rebels track & Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Las Vegas, NV – The UNLV rebels track and field program has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, with three student-athletes being named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes for the recent season. This marks the second consecutive year the Rebels have had multiple athletes recognized on this prestigious list, highlighting a sustained dedication to both athletic performance and scholarly achievement.

The honorees include Jayda Bushay, who studies Applied Health Sciences, Grace cunningham, a Psychology major, and Krishna Jayasankar, pursuing a degree in Management. Cunningham’s recognition is especially noteworthy as it follows her earlier selection to the CSC Academic All-District team this past summer, underscoring her consistent academic success.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative Grade Point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, they must have completed at least two semesters or three quarters at their nominating institution. The academic requirements are paired with stringent athletic benchmarks. For the indoor season, athletes needed to be ranked within the top 96 nationally in any event or within the top 48 in any championship relay. During the outdoor season, the criteria included finishing in the top 48 of the East or West Region rankings or participating in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. All rankings had to be officially verified through TFRRS.
