Toy Story 5 Debuts at No. 1 on Nielsen Streaming Charts With Disney+ Premiere
Pixar’s Toy Story 5 debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of September 21-27, 2026, pulling in 1.54 billion minutes of viewing time on Disney+.
How Toy Story 5 Stacks Up Against Disney+ Premieres
The animated sequel’s opening week stands as the second-largest single-week total for a movie on Disney+ this year. It trails only Zootopia 2, which pulled in 1.72 billion viewing minutes during its March release. While Toy Story 5 captured the top spot on the overall movie chart, Prime Video’s romantic comedy The Love Hypothesis opened in second place with 414 million minutes of viewing, followed closely by Netflix’s Unabomber at 407 million minutes.
Holders and Decliners Across Streaming Television
On the television side, last week’s heavy hitters saw moderate drops in viewership. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story declined by just 8 percent to land at 1.36 billion viewing minutes. That minor dip pushed it ahead of the Reacher spinoff Neagley, which pulled in 1.25 billion minutes after a 30 percent drop from its premiere week. Meanwhile, the mothership series Reacher managed 707 million minutes in the week following its fourth-season finale.

New series found traction on the charts as well. Two Netflix shows broke into the overall top 10 during their premiere weeks: Wonka’s The Golden Ticket with 854 million minutes and A Different World with 751 million minutes. Paramount+ drama MobLand returned to the rankings with 364 million minutes following its season two premiere.
Acquired Hits and Seasonal Shifts on the Charts
Acquired content continued to draw heavy audiences as fall viewing habits kicked in. American Horror Story scored 763 million minutes of viewing as its 13th season premiered on September 24, with its three new episodes driving a third of that total. Concurrently, Gilmore Girls made its annual autumn return to the rankings with 512 million minutes of watch time following its recent move to Hulu after years on Netflix.
Nielsen’s measurements track viewing exclusively on television sets within U.S. audiences, omitting viewing minutes from computers and mobile devices.
