TOWSON, Md. – Towson University swimmers and divers Jed Garner and Shannon Parrau have been recognized by the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) for their outstanding performances at the recent Patriot invite, earning Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors, respectively.The accolades highlight Towson’s strong start to the season and position both athletes as key contenders in the CAA.
Garner’s award marks his second weekly honor this season, fueled by a dominant showing at the Patriot Invite where he secured victories in three individual events – the 100 breaststroke (52.65), 200 IM (1:45.76), and 200 breaststroke (1:53.19) - alongside two relay wins. His 200 breaststroke time achieved an NCAA A cut and currently ranks 21st nationally. Garner also contributed to pool record-setting performances in the 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
Parrau claimed her third weekly honor of the season, continuing a streak of success after sweeping both diving events at the Patriot invite for the second consecutive invitational. The senior diver lead Towson to a second-place team finish, winning the 3-meter dive wiht a score of 298.80 and the 1-meter dive with a score of 269.55.
Both athletes will look to continue their success as Towson prepares for upcoming competitions, aiming to build on their early-season momentum and contend for CAA championships.
