Toshiya Miyata’s Wings Strike Mayor at Ikebukuro Halloween 2026
A pair of oversized wings nearly cost a pop star his welcome in Tokyo’s Toshima ward.
The Ikebukuro Wardrobe Malfunction
Kis-My-Ft2 member Toshiya Miyata faced an unexpected wardrobe malfunction involving municipal leadership during the special ceremony of the Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2026.
The incident occurred on October 31 at Nakaiikebukuro Park in Tokyo’s Toshima ward. Miyata appeared alongside cosplayer Enako as a special guest for the festival.
Drawn From COSPLAY MODE Magazine
Stepping onto the miniature runway in a costume styled after a “sky prince,” Miyata wore a white and black winged outfit. The attire was designed from an original concept featured in the October 2026 issue of the cosplay magazine COSPLAY MODE.
Feathers Strike Mayor Takagi
According to Miyata, when he bowed to greet attendees at the start of the event, the feathers on his left side repeatedly struck the mayor. I thought, this is bad,
Miyata recalled, adding that he struggled to keep the wings from hitting her further.
Mayor Takagi later flashed a circle sign from the related seating area to indicate approval. I was nervous about whether I would be banned from Ikebukuro Halloween, so I’m glad,
Miyata said with a laugh.
Enako Returns After Seven Years
Enako, attending the festival for the first time in seven years, appeared in a costume inspired by the Japanese mythology deity Toyokunonokami. Both guests drew applause and cameras from the assembled crowd during the special ceremony.
