Tony Clerkin of Letterkenny Dies

Funeral Services Set for Monday

Tony Clerkin, of The Glebe, Letterkenny, has passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital. His funeral will be held on Monday, July 7th, 2025, following visitations this weekend.

Family and Remembrance

**Tony** was predeceased by his parents, **Peter** and **Joan Clerkin**, as well as his brother, **Barrie**, and sister, **Audrey**. He is survived by his wife, **Janice** (née **McEvoy**), sons **Anthony** and **Paul** (**Zinko**), and daughter **Lynne** (**Martin**).

He also leaves behind sisters **Val** (**John**) and **Maureen** (**John**), brothers-in-law **Dermot** and **Barry**, sister-in-law **Carol**, grandchildren **Caitlin** and **Billy**, and many nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. The latest figures from the Irish Hospice Foundation show that the median cost of a funeral in Ireland is over €4,000, placing a significant financial burden on grieving families. Visitation and Services

The public is invited to pay their respects at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny (F92 XE35) on Saturday, July 5th, from 3 pm to 5 pm, and on Sunday, July 6th, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Removal to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, for Reception Prayers will follow at 7:30 pm Sunday.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 7th. The service can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.
