Tom Brady Flirts with Comeback After Viral Throw to Rob Gronkowski

LAS VEGAS – A playful toss during FOX’s Super Bowl LVIII pregame show has sparked renewed speculation about a potential return to the NFL for Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champion delivered a long-distance pass to former teammate Rob Gronkowski on Sunday, prompting Brady to jokingly wonder if the duo should consider another season together.

The effortless connection between Brady and Gronkowski, both appearing in excellent form, quickly went viral on social media. While Brady, 46, insists he was joking, the display ignited a flurry of reactions from fans and analysts, given his storied career and continued physical ability. Brady last played in 2022, throwing for 4,694 yards and 25 touchdowns with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at age 45.

Brady and Gronkowski formed one of the most dominant quarterback-tight end partnerships in NFL history, achieving success with both the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Throughout 141 games together, Brady connected with gronkowski 620 times for 9,275 receiving yards and 93 touchdowns. The pair combined to win four Super Bowls – three with New England and one with Tampa Bay.

Gronkowski, 34, retired after the 2021 season, having played 12 games for the Buccaneers and recording 55 receptions for 6 touchdowns. Despite both players transitioning to broadcasting roles, Sunday’s presentation showcased their enduring chemistry and athletic prowess, leaving many to ponder the possibility – however unlikely – of a future NFL reunion.
