The average cost for a 3-star hotel in Tokyo currently stands at $123 per night, according to data from Booking.com. Those seeking a 4-star experience can expect to pay around $213, while 5-star hotels average $383 per night. These figures suggest that finding a room for two within the city limits for under $100 is a significant hurdle.
Trip.com lists several hotels with rates starting below $100, including the HOTEL TAVINOS Asakusa, with rooms ranging from $69 to $352, and the Almont Hotel Nippori, typically priced from $58. However, availability at these lower price points is not guaranteed. The Richmond Hotel Asakusa offers value at $109 per night, located just 0.15 km from Asakusa Hanayashiki.
In the Shinjuku area, known for its nightlife and shopping, the Shinjuku Washington Hotel offers rooms from $98 to $895, while the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku starts at $148.
