CARACAS, Venezuela – Clara Vegas Goetz, representing Miranda state, has been named Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 in a gala event celebrating the pageant’s history. Amazonas was named first runner-up, followed by Mérida (2nd runner-up), Yaracuy (3rd runner-up), and Monagas (4th runner-up).
The 23-year-old actress and model is the daughter of Andreína Goetz, who held the Miss Venezuela title in 1990. Vegas emphasized the importance of inner beauty, stating, “Internal beauty is more vital than physical appearance.”
In an interview with the official Miss Venezuela website, Vegas expressed her deep connection to her homeland. ”What makes me most proud of being Venezuelan is without a doubt the people. venezuelans are welcoming. even though I left my country when I was nine years old, every time I visited I felt welcome as always. These last three months, they welcomed me with open arms and I have been able to meet and make new friends along with strengthening my family relationships. I feel very agreeable being here and receiving so much kindness from my dear people.”
The pageant itself marked a return to classic elements of the Miss Venezuela competition, featuring sequins, feathers, and a Broadway-style production reminiscent of the era under Osmel Sousa and joaquín Riviera.
The evening’s opening performance featured Maite Delgado as host and muse, accompanied by dancers from Venevisión, as well as the current Miss Supranational Venezuela, Miss Venezuela International, and Miss Venezuela world. A tribute to Dominican singer Rubby Pérez, with a performance by Miguel Molly, added a vibrant merengue segment to the show.
