Dallas Cowboys Receiver CeeDee Lamb Anticipates Physical Playoff-Style Matchup Against Detroit Lions
Allen Park,MI – Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb expressed confidence heading into Thursday’s crucial matchup against the Detroit Lions, characterizing the game as a “playoff game essentially” with both teams vying for postseason positioning. Lamb acknowledged the Lions’ aggressive defensive style, stating, “I know that these DBs, they like to put hands on. They run a lot of man and they’re going to be in your face. You know what’s going on in this fight, it’s just on how you’re going to prepare for it. It’s almost like a boxing match.”
The Cowboys (9-3) currently hold a slight edge in the NFC playoff picture, but a win over the Lions (7-5) would further solidify their standing. Lamb emphasized the team’s focus remains internal, despite Detroit’s own playoff aspirations.”We know what we’ve got to do for us,” Lamb said. “We’re not really speaking on what they’ve got. They understand their situation, we know what we’ve got.” He also noted the team is aware of the challenges of playing on the road, where they’ve secured victories against only the Jets and Raiders in six attempts, losing their other four away games by an average of 11 points.
lamb downplayed the idea that the Cowboys need a signature road win, but conceded, “I do say we do need it…because of the situation we’re in, we need it now.” he anticipates a hard-fought contest, adding, “It’s going to be physical, it’s going to be long, it’s going to be hard.”
Coming off three consecutive wins, Lamb and the Cowboys are riding a wave of momentum.”We take a lot of confidence into this game,” Lamb stated. ”We’ve won, we’ve proved it to ourselves we could do it three times in a row, why not make it four?” He also expressed enjoyment in facing physical opponents, saying, ”I find fun in that…That’s what football is, and then sometimes the ref will let you play, and then sometimes they won’t. So we’ll see how that goes.”
