Wolverhampton Wanderers Sack Manager vitor Pereira Amidst Premier League Struggles
Wolverhampton – Wolverhampton Wanderers have dismissed manager Vitor Pereira following a dismal start to the Premier League season. The Portuguese coach was relieved of his duties on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, one day after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
The firing comes as Wolves remain winless through their first ten Premier League matches of the season, accumulating only two draws and eight losses, leaving them at the bottom of the league table with just two points. This decision marks a swift reversal of fortune for Pereira, who had his contract extended just last September after successfully steering the club away from relegation at the end of the previous season.
wolves were also recently eliminated from the English League Cup, falling to Chelsea 4-3 in a mid-week match. Pereira’s tenure saw only two wins in 13 total matches.
“Vitor and his team have tried hard for Wolves and brought us through a difficult period last season, for which we are very grateful,” stated Wolves Executive chairman Jeff Shi on the club’s official website. “Unfortunately, the start to the season has been disappointing and, although we are keen to give the gaffer time and games to look for improvements, we have reached the point of having to make changes.”
Shi concluded, “We thank Vitor and staff for their efforts and we wish them all the best for the future.”
