Widzew Łódź eyes Polish International Kacper Kozłowski in Winter Transfer
ŁÓDŹ, POLAND – Widzew Łódź, backed by majority stakeholder Robert Dobrzycki, is reportedly targeting Polish national team midfielder Kacper Kozłowski, 22, during the upcoming winter transfer window. The aspiring move signals Widzew’s intent to climb the PKO Ekstraklasa standings adn eventually compete in European competitions.
Widzew has already invested considerably in player acquisitions this season, bringing in andi Zeqiri, Mateusz Fornalczyk, Sebastian Bergier, and Angel Baena.Though, despite these additions, the four-time Polish champions currently sit in 11th place in the PKO Ekstraklasa after fourteen rounds, with 17 points.
The club is currently managed by Igor Jovicević, the team’s third coach of the 2025/26 season. Dobrzycki is planning further squad enhancements in January, focusing on higher-quality players than previously targeted.
Kozłowski currently plays for Turkish side Gaziantep FK, where he has made eleven league appearances and scored three goals. His recent resurgence was highlighted by his return to the Polish national team on October 12,featuring in a match against New Zealand – his first appearance for the senior national team in four years. Coach Jan Urban’s call-up indicates Kozłowski is regaining form.
A key factor in Widzew’s pursuit is the presence of Dariusz Adamczuk, who recently joined the club and has a strong existing relationship with Kozłowski. Both previously worked together at Pogoń Szczecin, and Adamczuk also assisted with Kozłowski’s transfer to Brighton.
Securing Kozłowski would be considered a significant coup for Widzew Łódź.
