Widzew Łódź eyes Polish International Kacper Kozłowski in Winter ⁢Transfer

ŁÓDŹ, POLAND – Widzew Łódź, backed by majority stakeholder Robert Dobrzycki, is reportedly targeting Polish national team midfielder Kacper Kozłowski, 22, during the upcoming⁤ winter transfer window. The aspiring move signals Widzew’s intent to climb the⁣ PKO Ekstraklasa standings adn eventually compete in European competitions.

Widzew has already invested considerably in player acquisitions this season, bringing in ⁤andi Zeqiri, Mateusz Fornalczyk, Sebastian Bergier, and Angel Baena.Though, despite these additions, the four-time Polish champions currently ⁣sit in 11th place in ⁤the PKO ⁤Ekstraklasa after fourteen rounds, with 17 points.

The club is ⁢currently ⁣managed by Igor Jovicević, the⁤ team’s third coach of the 2025/26⁢ season. Dobrzycki is planning further ⁤squad enhancements in January, focusing⁤ on higher-quality players than ⁢previously targeted.

Kozłowski ⁣currently plays for Turkish side Gaziantep FK, where he has made ⁣eleven⁤ league appearances and ⁣scored three‍ goals. His⁢ recent resurgence was highlighted by ‍his return to the Polish national team on October 12,featuring in a match against New Zealand – his first appearance for ⁤the senior national team in four ⁢years. Coach Jan Urban’s call-up indicates Kozłowski is ⁣regaining form.

A key factor in Widzew’s ⁣pursuit is the presence of Dariusz Adamczuk, who recently ⁤joined⁢ the ‍club and has ⁣a ‍strong existing relationship‌ with Kozłowski. Both ‌previously worked together at Pogoń Szczecin, and Adamczuk⁣ also assisted with Kozłowski’s transfer to Brighton.

Securing Kozłowski would⁤ be considered a significant coup for Widzew Łódź.
