Whatcom County Home care Aide Loses Credentials Following Abuse & Neglect Finding
WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) revoked the home care aide credential of Obadiah Kamonjo Njoroge (HM60753253) effective May 2025, following a determination of neglect and abandonment of a vulnerable adult. The DOH announced the revocation yesterday, September 18, 2025.
This action stems from an October 2024 finding by the department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) which placed Njoroge on the state’s long-term care abuse and neglect registry. Placement on this registry prohibits Njoroge from working with, or having unsupervised access to, vulnerable adults, juveniles, and children, and prevents future certification as a home care aide. The revocation underscores the state’s commitment to protecting vulnerable populations and maintaining standards within the healthcare system.
According to the DOH, “Placement on the registry prohibits Njoroge from working with or having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults, juveniles and children as well as certification as a home care aide.”
