Westlake high School Drama Club to Stage ‘clue’ Comedy
Westlake, OH - Westlake High School’s drama club will present the comedic whodunit “Clue” on November 21 and 22, marking a departure from the school’s recent tradition of christmas-themed fall productions. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Westlake High School Performing Arts Center, located at 27830 Hilliard Blvd.
based on the classic board game, “Clue” follows the iconic characters – Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. Peacock, Mr. Green, Col. Mustard and Mrs. White - as they attempt to solve a murder at Boddy Manor. Director Doug Warnke and the student cast and crew are aiming to deliver a fast-paced, comedic experience for audiences.
“We’ve done a Christmas-themed show the past three years, so the fall play director and I discussed other options that were a good fit for our students across the board, both as actors and backstage crew,” said Yachanin-Butler. ”This show gives the actors the opportunity to try out a different style of show, something a lot quicker paced and a true comedy. Comedic timing is something students need a chance to develop, and this show does exactly that.”
The production also offers significant growth opportunities for the student crew, who manage all technical aspects of the show, including stage management, lights, rigging, and sound.
Tickets are $10 cash at the door, or can be purchased online by scanning a QR code available in the school lobby.
