Title: Western Michigan Men’s Tennis Prepares for ITA Midwest Regional

WMU Men’s Tennis Opens ITA Midwest Regional Competition at DePaul

CHICAGO, Ill. – ‌The ⁤Western Michigan University ⁤men’s tennis team begins play at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted ​by DePaul University today, October 26th. Competition will take place throughout the weekend, showcasing the‍ Broncos against a field of prominent⁢ Midwestern opponents.

The⁣ ITA Midwest Regional serves as a crucial early-season test for WMU, providing valuable match experience and opportunities to assess player growth. Success at the regional can earn players automatic bids to⁤ the ITA National Indoor Championships later this season. The tournament impacts the broncos’ individual rankings and​ team momentum heading into the‍ dual ⁣match spring season.

Senior Benjamin Readel and freshman Ashton Adesoro have secured spots in the main singles ⁤draw. readel will face Cyrus Mahjoob of Northwestern,while Adesoro‌ is scheduled⁤ to compete​ against Artem Alekseychuk from UIC.

A contingent of broncos will begin their tournament journeys in ⁣the qualifying draw. Chen-Hui Ho will oppose Josua Mackey of ‌Toledo at 10:00 a.m. ET, alongside Dimitri Moriarty versus​ Augusto Pardo cano of DePaul. Jack Davison will challenge Mihailo Savic (UIC) at 10:00 a.m., followed by Oscar Corwin against Sven Moser (DePaul) at 11:00 a.m. Alex Antonopoulos ‍will play JP​ Day of Ohio State ‍at 11:30 a.m., Matej Kajzer will face Jett ‌Leong (Illinois State) at 1:00 p.m., and Jonas Keck will take on Charlie Snow (Toledo) at 2:00 p.m.

Doubles play commences Friday,‍ with Western Michigan fielding five teams.Jack Davison and Ashton Adesoro will meet Sven Moser and Thomas Giles of DePaul. Oscar Corwin and Alex Antonopoulos will compete against Mert oral and Arnav Bhandari (Michigan). Jonas Keck and Chen-Hui Ho ​will face Schiffman,while​ Matej Kajzer and Dimitri Moriarty will challenge patrik Meszaros and Edouard Aubert (Wisconsin). Drew Evans and Benjamin Riedel will play Lorenzo Leti Messina and Federico scotuzzi (NIU).
