Title: Volleyball: Privateers Head to Texas Road Trip

NEW ORLEANS – The‌ University of New Orleans Privateers volleyball team⁢ embarks on ‍a three-match‌ road trip this ⁤week,⁤ facing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UTRGV, and HCU in Southland Conference action.

The privateers‌ currently rank fourth in the conference ‍with 15.54 digs per set. Their recent performance against East Texas A&M saw them record 84​ digs in a three-set match, just six shy of the program record for that format.‌ Individually, Peyton Cole leads the‍ team ‍with 2.80 digs per set, closely followed by Vanae sapp at 2.76.Sapp ⁣has accumulated 47 digs ⁢in her last ⁤three matches, while Cole has reached​ double-digit digs in five of‌ her last six contests.

This⁣ road swing presents a meaningful challenge as the Privateers face tough competition. ‌They hold a 2-14 all-time record against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, with their last victory coming​ in 2022. Against HCU, New Orleans is 2-17, their​ most recent win⁣ dating back⁢ to 2019. The series with UTRGV⁤ is relatively new, ‍with the Privateers ⁢posting a 1-2 record since the vaqueros’ formation in 2012.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi enters the week as⁢ the defending Southland postseason champions, boasting the fourth-highest hitting percentage in the league at .234. UTRGV is⁣ tied‍ for second in conference play at 5-1, leading the league in hitting percentage (.255) and ranking third in kills per set (16.61). HCU also holds a 5-1 ​conference⁢ record, with ⁤their recent⁤ loss coming ⁣against UTRGV.
