Title: Violent Incident in County Limerick: Man Shot, Car Burned

## Limerick Leader: Gardaí Investigate Violent Incident in West Limerick

Gardaí are investigating a ‌violent⁤ incident that occurred⁣ in West⁢ Limerick on Thursday evening.⁤ according too a Garda spokesperson,they received⁢ a report of a vehicle being rammed and⁤ an altercation in the townland‍ of Kilcoole,near Rathkeale,shortly after 6:30 PM ‍ [[1]].

It is believed that a man ‌in his 40s was shot in​ the hip‍ area and⁢ was transported to University Hospital ⁣Limerick for treatment. His injuries are not currently believed to ⁣be life-threatening [[2]]. A large number⁤ of family members​ have gathered at the hospital.Gardaí are appealing to⁢ the public for ⁤assistance. They are requesting that anyone wiht camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the‌ Kilcoole and greater Rathkeale areas between 6:15 PM and ‍7:30‍ PM on Thursday, August 21, make ⁢it​ available to investigating officers. Anyone with details is asked to contact Newcastle⁣ West Garda station at ​069 20650, the‍ Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, ​or any Garda station‌ [[3]].

There are reports that a car was later found burnt out. A major Garda ‍inquiry has been​ launched, and investigations are ongoing [[4]].
