New Delhi: The wife of former attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has purchased a bungalow in Delhi’s upscale Golf Links locality for ₹115 crore, according to documents accessed recently. This marks her second notable property acquisition in the area in under two years, signaling continued high demand for prime real estate among India’s corporate elite.
In February 2023, she had acquired a 2,100 square yard bungalow in Golf Links for ₹160 crore. The latest transaction, registered on August 23, involved a stamp duty payment of ₹5.7 crore.
The purchase underscores a trend of corporate leaders investing in Delhi’s moast exclusive neighborhoods. Golf Links, in particular, has become a favored destination for the wealthy, maintaining firm prices due to limited availability.
Recent high-profile transactions in the area include former solicitor general Gopal Subramanium’s purchase of an 866 square yard bungalow in Sunder Nagar for ₹85 crore.Rategain founder Bhanu Chopra recently bought an 850 square meter bungalow at Golf Links for ₹127.5 crore, and Maxop Engineering director Shailesh Arora purchased a 575 square yard bungalow in Golf Links for ₹68.5 crore. Pawan Agarwal, deputy MD of DB Group (Dainik Bhaskar), also acquired a 575 square yard bungalow for ₹75 crore. Sunil Vachani, chairman of Dixon Tech, and Vishwavir Ahuja, former chairman and MD of RBL Bank, have also invested in Golf Links bungalows since the pandemic.
Mukul Rohatgi did not respond to a request for comment regarding the latest deal. Last year, Rohatgi and his wife sold a bungalow in Delhi’s Sunder Nagar area for ₹100 crore.
