“Tutto l’Universo” Commences Filming in the Marche Region, Championing Local Talent
Filming is underway for “Tutto l’Universo,” a new feature film being shot across the provinces of Pesaro and Ancona in the Marche region of Italy. The project, produced by Movie Factory, is notable for its commitment to showcasing both the region’s landscapes and its cinematic professionals.
Producer Francesco Paolo Montini expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “A film that immediately convinced us for its narrative and visual strength, for the telling of a great human story common to many people. The same locations proposed, which will be the protagonists of the film, have made the project and will make the film even stronger emotionally.” He highlighted the extensive involvement of local communities,noting that “Many villages and small towns in the Marche where involved in the filming,” and emphasized the film’s authenticity through the use of the Marche dialect,”a real film where…the use of the Marche dialect will be another element of truth.”
“Tutto l’Universo” marks the directorial debut of Matteo damiani, originally from Urbino. Damiani brings a wealth of experience, having worked as an assistant director with prominent filmmakers including Andrej Končalovskij, Roberto Faenza, Susanna Nicchiarelli, Daniele Vicari, and Matteo Rovere, and contributed to TV series such as “Romulus” and ”Supersex.” His previous short film, “L’ultima festa,” produced by Movie Factory and Marche Film Commission, received significant recognition as the most awarded short of 2022.
The film stars Anna Bellato (“My Mother”, ”I quit Whenever I Want – Ad Honorem”, “The valley of Smiles”) in the lead role, alongside Dora Romano (“It Was the Hand of God”, “My Brilliant Friend”, “Imma Tataranni”), and Majd Mastoura, the French-tunisian actor recognized for winning a Silver Bear in Berlin. The cast also includes Marco Learnato, Fabrizio Bartolucci, Simona Ripari, Valentina Illuminati, Giulia Eugeni, Maria Rosa Bastianelli, Alice Pistilli, and Nicolò Marabini.
The narrative centers on Marta, a woman approaching 50 who has dedicated her life to caring for her mother. Facing the prospect of loneliness as her mother’s health declines, Marta seeks to reclaim lost time and discover her own identity. The film explores themes of transition, self-acceptance, and the complexities of becoming an adult.
The production boasts a substantial crew,with approximately 20 people working behind the scenes,15 of whom are from the Marche region. Around 14 actors are involved, 10 hailing from the Marche region, and approximately 100 extras will be utilized. This demonstrates a strong commitment to the participation and valorization of local professionals, with over three-quarters of the technical cast originating from the Marche region and representing various cities within it.
