Triple H Suggests Roman Reigns May Bypass WrestleMania 42⁢ Qualification

PHILADELPHIA, PA – November 25, 2023 – WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H indicated Roman⁤ Reigns’ star power may supersede customary wrestlemania qualification protocols, possibly allowing the Undisputed WWE Worldwide Champion to directly select his opponent for WrestleMania 42. The comments came during a promotional appearance following Saturday’s WWE Survivor⁢ Series ‍event.

The remarks fuel speculation regarding Reigns’ path to the “Grandest Stage of Them All” and the potential ‌for a high-profile match against either CM⁢ Punk or Cody Rhodes. Triple H stated, “When you have a⁤ star the size of Roman Reigns, he ‍transcends the world title, he transcends the Royal‍ Rumble, he transcends the elimination Chamber. Does he ‍really need to qualify or does he just call his shot? That’s a decision ‍that we here in the WWE need to make very shortly.”

This discussion arrives⁤ as Reigns continues his historic title reign, currently exceeding 1,300 days. Traditionally, contenders for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship emerge through victories in events like⁤ the‌ Royal Rumble or⁣ elimination Chamber. However, ‌Triple H’s suggestion opens the door for Reigns‌ to circumvent these pathways, ⁣directly challenging‌ a competitor of his choosing.

At Survivor Series, Reigns teamed with CM Punk, Cody ⁤Rhodes, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso in a ⁢losing effort against a team comprised of Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar. Following the match, Triple H further emphasized the likelihood‍ of Reigns facing either Punk or Rhodes at WrestleMania 42, ⁣stating,‍ “I have a feeling that one of those two guys…is on a collision course with roman Reigns.⁤ It’s‍ going to⁣ be interesting to see where that goes.” wrestlemania⁣ 42 is scheduled ⁢for April 2025.
