Sylt Judo Team Achieves Historic Sweep at Recent Competition
Westerland,Sylt – December 6th,2025 – The TSV Westerland judo team celebrated a landmark achievement this weekend,with every competitor – ranging in age from 10 to 16 – securing a medal at a recent tournament. the remarkable result underscores the strength of youth judo growth on the island of Sylt.
This complete podium sweep demonstrates the consistent success of the TSV Westerland’s training program and signals a promising future for the sport on Sylt. The achievement not only boosts team morale but also highlights the dedication of coaches and athletes alike, potentially attracting further investment and participation in the program.
Leading the charge was Jenny Wald, who claimed first place with a series of decisive victories. Close behind were Camal Safarov, Leo Carstensen, and Liam Akgün, each earning a strong second-place finish, showcasing the depth of talent within the Sylt squad. Annelie Nunnenkamp, Pia Regge, and Samuel Scharf rounded out the team’s success, each securing bronze medals and completing the 100 percent podium quota.
Coaches Christopher Scharf and Günter Scharf, lauded the team’s performance. “As was to be expected, everyone on the podium, no surprises,” Christopher Scharf stated, a testament to the high standards and rigorous training instilled within the TSV Westerland judo division.
