St. cloud Bulldogs Conclude Historic 8-2 Season with 55-6 Victory Over Lake Minneola
ST. CLOUD, FL - Teh St. Cloud Bulldogs closed out their regular season in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating the Lake Minneola Hawks 55-6 and achieving a record of 8-2 – the program’s best finish in recent history. The Bulldogs’ offense proved unstoppable, scoring touchdowns through the air and on the ground in a decisive victory.
The win secures St. Cloud’s position heading into the FHSAA Class 7A Playoffs. Currently ranked fourth, the bulldogs are poised to face third-seeded Dr. Phillips (7-3) in the regional quarterfinal on Friday, Nov. 14. However, Dr. Phillips’ recent 28-17 loss to West Orange could shift the rankings, potentially allowing St. Cloud to host the first-round game - a scenario the team desires given their undefeated 6-0 record at home this season.
Jeremiah Lattier led the bulldogs’ offensive charge, connecting with Stacy Taylor for a 15-yard touchdown pass and later finding Bryce Williams for a 29-yard score in the first quarter.Cameron Dalton added a 27-yard rushing touchdown in the second, followed by a 1-yard run from Shawn Eplin. Lattier continued his success, throwing touchdown passes to Santiago Ochoa (28 yards and 7 yards) and Michael Cuyler (25 yards).Ochoa also contributed a 7-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Lake Minneola’s lone score came on a 101-yard interception return by Draiden Love-Webb. Jermidave Velez-Santos was prosperous on seven of eight extra point attempts for St.Cloud.
“No idea what will happen with the rankings,” said Bulldogs coach Josh Short.”But we would love to have it at home, where we have been undefeated this year (6-0).”
In other area action, Osceola fell to Lakewood (St. Petersburg) 28-18, finishing the season at 6-4. Tohopekaliga (5-5) and Harmony (5-5) both secured .500 records with wins, while Gateway (5-5) defeated Festivity (1-9) and Poinciana (3-7) lost to Avon Park.
