Former IZONE Member Dayoung Details Diet Drug Side Effects, Weight Loss Journey
SEOUL, September 26, 2025 – Former IZONE member Dayoung publicly discussed her experiences with diet pills and herbal remedies, revealing concerning side effects including memory loss and low blood pressure. The confession came during an appearance on Yubin’s YouTube show, “Ryutu,” where she detailed her efforts to lose weight for a solo album.
Dayoung recounted a history of experimenting with weight loss methods, beginning with pharmaceutical diet aids at age 20.She described experiencing debilitating side effects, stating, “I had low blood pressure and my head was pinged.” She further explained instances of temporary memory lapses, recalling waking up to find herself on the floor with no recollection of how she got there. Following the diet pills, Dayoung also tried herbal medicine, ultimately concluding, “Both are no-gos. You shouldn’t eat medicine and diet.”
The singer previously lost 12 kilograms in planning for her solo debut, and currently weighs 43.6 kilograms. Fellow artist lee Chae-yeon also shared her struggles with adapting to the irregular schedules of celebrity life, noting fluctuations in her body and swelling.Yubin and Dayoung both expressed empathy with Chae-yeon’s experience.
