CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of South Carolina Upstate volleyball standout Sophia Overholt has been named the Big South Conference Libero of the Week,the league announced Monday. This marks the first weekly award of her career and the 14th different weekly honor earned by a Spartan this season. USC Upstate is now the only Big South program to have received an award in each of the conference’s four award categories in 2025.
Overholt, a tryon, N.C. native, excelled last week, ranking second in the Big South with 58 total digs and averaging 6.44 digs per set.Her standout performance included a career-high 35 digs against Radford – a total that briefly led the conference this season and ranks fourth in program history.She followed that with 23 digs against High Point, also contributing five assists.
