SMU to Host‌ Arizona and TCU ‍in Double Dual Meet

DALLAS – Teh SMU Mustangs⁤ will welcome Arizona and ⁤TCU to the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center for a double dual ‍meet spanning ‌Thursday and Friday, November ⁣7-8. SMU is⁢ coming off a strong start to the season, ​highlighted by freshman successes and⁢ returning talent poised for continued success in the‌ Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Mustangs ‍will compete against both the Wildcats and the Horned Frogs in a challenging​ early-season test. SMU recently saw first-year swimmers like Macey Oppliger achieve their first collegiate event wins.The team returns 10 athletes from their inaugural ACC season, including NCAA Championships⁣ performer Maddy Parker and 2024 american Athletic Conference⁣ champion Jimena Leal. Parker recorded the second-fastest 100 free time in SMU ‌history⁣ (48.09) last season, while Leal secured victories in the 200 back and ‌400 medley relay at the 2024 AAC Championships.

SMU’s roster also⁤ includes senior Tiffanie⁤ Ruan, a member‌ of the 2024 AAC Championship-winning 400 free‍ relay team, and Reagan Evans, ‌who placed 53rd on 3-meter at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships. This year’s squad is bolstered by six ​newcomers ‌- five swimmers​ and one diver.

The Mustangs are under the guidance of a new Associate Head Coach, McCall,⁢ who joined SMU ⁣after four years at TCU Swimming and Diving, including​ a ‍promotion to associate head coach in 2023. Prior to TCU,McCall spent five years at Florida Atlantic University Swimming and Diving as an assistant ⁣coach.
